The stories:

Joey Dunlop and V Four Victory

This is Joey Dunlop at Ballaugh on his way to winning the 1983 Formula 1 TT. Highlights from Dunlop’s 1983 TT also featured in the now-iconic V Four Victory film with onboard footage of Dunlop gracing the mountain course. This was the first time Dunlop rode with a camera and despite the cumbersome nature of 1980s video cameras, he still rode with exquisite precision. ‘V’ for victory was also the symbol used by Winston Churchill during World War Two, only when he first made the visual expression his fingers were turned the wrong way, meaning something quite different.

Agostini Pasta

Italian star and ten-times TT winner Giacomo Agostini first came to the TT in 1965 and despite being terrified by the course he finished on the podium. But it was not an easy trip: it’s reported that the fifteen-times World Champion was so homesick during his time on the island he ate tagliatelle every night as it reminded him of home.

Bog Roll at Parliament Square

Toilets and toilet paper, or a lack of, has been an issue for many a TT racer over the years. Mick Grant allegedly relieved himself in his leathers during a race because he wasn’t prepared to stop and Dave Arnold stopped to use the public toilets in Parliament Square during the 1973 Manx Grand Prix Senior.
