BARREGARROW - LIMITED EDITION
BARREGARROW - LIMITED EDITION
Barregarrow is from Rachael Clegg’s Milestones series in which every single image illustrates an event from the history of the Isle of Man TT Races. The story:
he bottom of Barregarrow is a testing ground for a bike’s suspension. And in 1996 it certainly tested Phillip McCallen. McCallen was leading the 250cc race – having already won four TTs that week – until he wore holes in his exhaust after bottoming-out and scraping his machine at Barregarrow. The loss of power dropped the Northern Irish star from first to fourth place. Even the name, ‘Barregarrow’, is Manx Gaelic for ‘rough road’.
