JOEY DUNLOP'S V FOUR VICTORY - ARTIST'S PROOF

£400.00

A 40cm x 50cm Artist’s Proof of Joey Dunlop’s V Four Victory

The story: This is Joey Dunlop at Ballaugh on his way to winning the 1983 Formula 1 TT. Highlights from Dunlop’s 1983 TT also featured in the now-iconic V Four Victory film with onboard footage of Dunlop gracing the mountain course. This was the first time Dunlop rode with a camera and despite the cumbersome nature of 1980s video cameras, he still rode with exquisite precision. ‘V’ for victory was also the symbol used by Winston Churchill during World War Two, only when he first made the visual expression his fingers were turned the wrong way, meaning something quite different.
