SNAEFELL
SNAEFELL
Snaefell is from Rachael Clegg’s Milestones series in which every single image illustrates an event from the history of the Isle of Man TT Races.
The story:
‘King of the Mountain’ Joey Dunlop ran out of fuel on the mountain during the 2000 TT 250cc practice session. But it was imperative Dunlop got back to the Start as he needed lap time on his other machine. Desperate to get back, the resourceful Ulster-man ciphered fuel from the Travelling Marshal’s machine using a plastic cup he found on the mountain. He then drained his front fork for oil, mixed the two substances and refuelled his RS 250 Honda.
